SIMPL+ modules can be added to a SIMPL Windows program or user module much like a logic symbol, to extend functionality or solve a specific control problem. The SIMPL Windows installation package includes SIMPL+, a development tool that allows advanced programmers to create and compile custom control modules using a procedural language similar to C. Though incredibly easy to use, SIMPL Windows also provides the sophisticated features advanced users require. I usually use an OR, but also if any signal going into the OR could latch I put it through a One Shot (Or Multiople On Shot if you have a lot of signals to do) to avoid jamming the OR open. This allows for unmatched programming creativity and independent flexibility. Jamming is generally undesirable, and as stated cleaning up those warnings helps a lot with debugging later. As programmers become proficient at using SIMPL Windows it will become obvious that there are many ways to solve the same control problem. The Symbol and Device Libraries are constantly being expanded to support virtually every possible application. Programmers can bookmark symbol detail views, and store commonly used signals in the Signal Tray for quick access. SIMPL Windows supports most standard Windows commands, including drag and drop, multisignal/symbol selection, copy and paste, and undo. Logic symbols and control modules are categorized in libraries for quick selection, while signals are color-coded, making connection points clear. SIMPL Windows presents graphic and list views of the system in easy-to-navigate screens. Finally, SIMPL Windows allows programmers to test and debug programs in real time, using powerful diagnostic tools such as Test Manager, Network Analyzer, and Toolbox. The Program Manager view is used to connect signals and define the program logic. The Configuration Manager view is used to define and configure the Crestron hardware and controlled AV equipment, and to import VisionTools Pro-e projects for automatic signal naming on touchpanels and XPanels. Combining the familiarity of a Windows based graphical user interface with the programming power of SIMPL (Symbol Intensive Master Programming Language), SIMPL Windows provides the link between Crestron systems hardware, user interfaces, and the world of equipment to be controlled. SIMPL Windows provides all the tools necessary to configure, program, test and debug a fully integrated system of any size or scope. The application will let you know when updates are available. I am programming a CT 3200 and a CNMSX-Pro to run with VCR, DVD, Laserdisc, audio components.

If you extend SIMPLified 2 with add-on entitlements, a variety of debugging, refactoring, design and productivity tools are at your fingertips.Įach entitlement unlocks a collection of tools for comparing program trees for differences, identifying common code for conversion to modules, extracting signals for a module's argument definition, and we'll continue to add more functionality as fast as we can - and we're open to suggestions! The base application provides a simple mechanism to analyse your SIMPL programs for easily recognisable issues which would generate notices, warnings or errors in a normal compile, but without having to go through the time consuming compilation step. SIMPLified 2 attempts to redress the balance in favour of structured, easily maintainable code. At best, some programs are simply hard to follow and at worst, there can simply be functional bugs that defy detection – usually leading to yet more convoluted logic which does more to hide the issue than resolve the underlying problem. It is fairly easy to develop programs that are difficult to maintain in many different ways, from inconsistent naming conventions and convoluted logic, to swamped warnings and unrecognised slips. While SIMPL Windows offers immense power and flexibility, this can come at a cost. SIMPLified 2 is the complementary application for SIMPL Windows programmers.
